GALLERI SANDBERG - ODENSE (DK)
8. JANUARY - 5. FEBRUARY 2022
In fall 2019, Mazja had a Southwest road trip in New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and California collecting inspiration and material for a new visual American tale of which these five artworks entitled Abandoned are the first to be revealed to the public.
Abandoned means to give up all concern in something or discontinue any further interest because of discouragement, weariness, distaste, or the like.
Mazja says: "There is something both eerie and mesmerizing about abandoned places. They are snapshots of history frozen in time, and stark reminders of what used to be with both melancholy and beauty seeping through the broken glass and dust."
