Complete Superfection: A New World

5. FEBRUAR 2021 - 13. MARTS 2021

Since the beginning of time the complex beauty of nature has been the ultimate inspiration for the artist who, depending on his or her orientation, has sought to imitate it, improve it, or interpret it. Many artists take the beauty and transpose it into an entirely new medium such as canvas or sculpture; however, other artists actually manipulate nature and turn it into art. This is the case with these works titled Complete Superfection: A New World.

Art that functions on multiple levels is important to our world, and Mazja's photographic works possesses an underlying message of reconnecting with nature. Complete Superfection: A New World is a series of picturesque photographs: Mazja hand-painted the landscape on location and used it as her canvas. She is combing the brutality of the paintbrush with the gentle nature of the plants.

With Complete Superfection: A New World Mazja aims to demonstrate the problems caused by changes in the relationship between man and nature.  Mazja says: "In this new series of artworks, the natural landscape has been manipulated and painted in colours that are not commonly found in this type of vegetation. The photographs are at the same time incredible wonderful and horrifying, and hopefully they will inspire to cherish nature.”
